Special Olympics World Summer Games -the  largest sport event in the world for people with intellectual disability- will be held in 2011, in Athens from June 25th  to July 4th , hosting 7,500 Athletes from 180 countries, 2,500 coaches, 3,000 sport officials, 25.000 volunteers, 40,000 athletes’ family members and thousands of spectators and journalists from around the world.
The Volunteers Program of the Special Olympics World Summer Games ATHENS 2011 plays a key role for the success of the event, aiming to motivate 25,000 volunteers that will support the event in various  areas providing their services to athletes, delegation members  and to all participants of the Games.
